Bears sign kicker Matt Fordyce

By Larry Mayer

March 2, 2006

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Bears on Thursday signed kicker Matt Fordyce to a two-year contract. Fordyce entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals in 2004.

A two-time all-Patriot League selection as a punter and place-kicker at Fordham University, Fordyce has spent each of the past two summers in training camp with the Cardinals but has never appeared in an NFL regular-season game.

Eh, nothing special, Duno much about him.

They aren't pissed with Maynard or Gould. They want to give them more competition in camp.

Brook's brother?

Adam Vinitieri would give them competition.

You are saying this like that is a bad thing. If Viniateiri signed with the Bears, im sorry but Robbie Gould its been nice knowing you.

I wasn't saying it as a bad thing, i was just noting that the bears are not going to bring in Vinatieri for "competition".
