Sheffield Fired Boras

Featured Replies

That should at least give the Sox a shot to land him in the off season.

Granted they trade Lee, Borchard, or Ordonez.

Well that makes him instantly more attractive. Too bad we have no chance at landing him. I wonder why he fired Borass? I haven't heard of that one before.

I read it on the News and Notes on the Yahoo Fantasy. I'll try to find out more.

So essentially he is worried about 5% of his salary??? So if he were to get a $10 mil deal for next year he would lose $500,000 to an agent, and that is why he is firing the best agent in the game? Pardon my French but what a f***ing idiot. :bang

I think it was Ray Allen that worked an agreement himself and hired an attorney to review and sign off on it. What the hell does Boras do for $500,000? Ask Bobby Hill, yet another year further from free agency. A-Rod was getting big money anyway Borass. I think I can go in and say Gary Sheffield is worth $12M a year what do you think?

There was no way that ARod gets $252 mil on his own. There were no offers higher than 8 years $160 million. Boras had them bidding against themselves! That is a difference of almost $90 million!

The NBA is a completely different monster. They have an individual salary cap. For someone who is going to make the max, there is no need for an agent. Baseball doesn't have such a structure. So your agent can make a big difference.

I always have said that Boras is the freaking man when it comes to being an agent. There is no way I'd want anyone other then him.

:fyou Boras - you wrecked America's past time. I would love to go

on your arse. If you had never been born, the SOX might

have AROD at SS right now. You punk ass pc of shark liver.

:bang <- on Boras head for .. being Boras!

That A-Rod deal was possible because of the stupidiy of Tom Hicks, Ranger owner. I'm delighted Gary fired his ass. Maybe he'll have his wife do the negotiating and keep the fee in the family. Wouldn't be the first time. 5% of $50 Million is $2.5 Large.

Keep thinking that. JR never had ANY intention of signing ARod. Not at his asking price. No f***ing way. JR is too cheap.
