rangercal
I know I wouldn't mind watching my favorite team an extra 5 games or what ever it is for the NIT. But, win or lose it's an accomplishment on it's own to make the 65 team tournament.

Jordan4life_2007
I'd rather make the tourney every time.

Felix
I'll take the NIT winner, only because my school is in it
Rex Hudler
I'd say 8 out of 10 times the tourney is the place to be. It gives a school the most exposure, even if they lose in the first round. You never go into the tourney (unless you are a 16 seed) expecting to lose. You always think you have a chance, and that probably includes the 16 seeds now. The only time I would say it could be better in certain circumstances where you have a young team and playing an extra 4-5 games could give it the extra experience it needs to make a run the following year. Ask any coach and he would choose the tournament every time, but that's not to say a run in the NIT could not be beneficial for a team. orangekrush88
95% of the time I would take the NCAA tourney, There is no question a team like Misouri State would have rather had the opportunity and lost in the NCAA over their fate right now of poterntial NIT champ. Although for a team like South Alabama, what would you rather have? Getting blown out by Florida in the tourney or running through the NIT beating BCS schools and playing on ESPN for at least two nights?
