Nationals GM Jim Bowden was arrested on Sunday night in Miami Beach and charged with DUI.

 

The joke possibilities are tremendous, but drinking and driving, if that's in fact what Bowden did, is hardly a laughing matter. The chances of him holding on to his job when new ownership takes over certainly diminish with the news. "I intend to plead not guilty at a future date in a Miami Dade court," Bowden said in a statement. Bowden could have drank all the vodka in Russia and it still wouldn't begin to explain everything about him. What an idiot.

The Nationals uniforms sort of do remind me of an Old Style can or the lettering of a Stroh's can.

He might have been impaired when he made the deal for Soriano.

Bowden is still living off of the reputation he got as a great GM the year that the Reds won 96 games and missed the playoffs because of a one game playoff. It all has been pretty much downhill for him since that year.
