Pods is heating up

Featured Replies

Pods is finally hitting over the Mendoza line!

It is good to see Pods back to form over the last week. He has a 5 game hitting streak, is 9 for 20 during the streak, and has scored in 5 of the last 6 games. The Sox are 10-3 with him in the lineup this season. I was surprised at his 2 CS yesterday, but that is going to happen. Another good sign is that he only has 3 Ks in his last 46 ABs.

Uribe has quietly put together a 3 game hitting streak as well.

The Sox have great momentum for their showdown with the Twinkies this weekend.

:gosox1:

good post...I agree...and Im glad I will have to start putting him back into my fanatasy lineup!!! Sheesh! Go Pods! f*** the twinkies!

Pods and Uribe warming up is the biggest news of the last series. The rotation will be fine, Jenks and B Mac are solid in the pen....but if Pods and Uribe start hitting, this lineup is pretty much unstoppable, even if Anderson continues to struggle.

You know what I can't figure out? Why Podsednik is so damn bad at stealing bases against K.C. In the last 2 years, he's been caught 8 times by K.C. catchers, out of 25 total times he was caught.

Something I've noticed about Pods is that he really feasts off of teams with bad throwing catchers. I'm not saying this is bad of him, as it's called taking advantage of what the other team gives you. He would run at will last season against teams like the Indians and Orioles, who couldn't throw out any runners. However, he really struggled against teams with good throwing catchers.

Then maybe he should restrict his "steal every time I'm on base" mentality to teams with poor catchers.

It's amazing what a nine game winning streak will do to one's attitude. It just seems so many things started to jell and straighten themselves out. The last three pitching performances for instance. WOW!

Aw, c'mon. They gave up 1 run in the series. That's pretty sweet.

Pods needs to be more selective with his steal attempts....it doesn't matter how many bases you steal if your getting caught as often has Pods has since the middle of last season.

The Royals offense isn't as bad as the numbers suggest. They've got some pretty good hitters. They're just all in a mega-slump right now.

Yeah, I like some of the changes the Royals made. With that in mind, their hitters were awful this series. Some of the guys that give us trouble, like Berroa, simply had no clue at the plate. I'm not taking anything away from our pitchers though, they did what they had to do in order to get people out.

pODZ IS STARTING TO HEAT UP INDEED. Lets hope he can continue it.

What happened to the death threats to release Pods ASAP?? :huh

Hate to brag but I called it it my HotorNot Article
