With the Crosstown Series coming upon us, I'd thought I'd gauge the interest or disinterest with this series. I, for one, get more excited when the Sox sweep a divisional foe than some team from the piss poor National League :gosox1:

To me, the Cubs series this year has lost some luster since we are World Champs and the Iowa Cubs are better than the team we will face this weekend.

However, it will be fun to go ahead and take them out of contention.

I still like sweeping the Twins more than any other team.

The only way I'd be happier with a sweep of the ScRubs is if it came in the playoffs. Otherwise, give me a sweep of an AL Central team, especially if that team is Detroit the way they're going right now.

1. Sweeping Astros in World Series.

2. Sweeping BoSox in Division Series.

3. Sweeping Cubs any time.

I gotta admit, I'm kinda looking forward to kicking them while they're down.

I picked AL central team, but sweeping the Cubs is always sweet while sweeping the Royals can be fairly boring...though lately it's becoming difficult to come by. Sweeping the Tigers or Indians is very, very sweet thought.

Same. I wasn't interested in this series at all last year, but I'm excited for it again.

However, I'm the farthest thing possible away from Cuck the Fubs. My priorities are always in our division, and not with the Cubs.

IIRC, the crosstown series has been pretty evenly-split singe interleague play was introduced. No matter how good one team is doing and how down-and-out the other is, sweeps have been few and far between. Despite how awfully the Cubs have been recently, I wouldn't be surprised if they took one of out three this weekend.

yea, thats usually how it goes. the cubs will definately be "up" for this series.

Since I'm in High School and there is an insane amount of Cubs bandwagoners/Sox haters, I'd much rather see a sweep of the Cubs just to keep them shut up. This series is all their fans have to look forward to this year, so why not make them even more miserable?

I'll admit, when the Sox weren't any good, this series was the most important of the year for me because it was the only playoff atmosphere at the Cell. Now we have a little thing called the World Series to look forward to.

2 of 3 for the cub would not be that surprising to me. Maddux always pitches good against us and Zambrano has been going good. We do not fair well against lefties so Saturday is by no means a cakewalk. They will be up, we better be as well. They also will be rested being at home, we fly in late Thursday for an afternoon game.

I also hope we don't look past the Rays.

world series

while it is always fun to beat the cubs, there is nothing better than putting a team 3 more games behind.

much like whitesoxin' I live in an insnae cubs area. The Kohls I work at only has Sox stuff in kid sizes and a whole wall of mens Cubs Shirts. Beating the cubs is always pretty sweet.

A sweep means three or four consecutive wins, so any sweep is pretty damn sweet.

Be that as it may, if I had to choose, I'd rather a sweep be against a team in our division.

The two last October.

I went with the Sweep over the divisional foe, especially if it is the Tribe, Tigers or Twins. We get the added benefit of a win and a loss by them which moves us closer to our goal of another divisional title and a return to the playoffs and beyond.

Of course, I do not have many Cub fans around down here so I do not have to put him their BS if they happen to get a few wins against us. Just shove the ring in their face.

As much as all of us want to say the Twins or Indians, the intensity will be 10X more against the Cubs. The crowd is in every pitch. We just have to kick those guys while they are down. We better not take this series lightly, because believe me, the Cubs won't.

Zambrano going on Sunday. In case you haven't noticed he is locked in right now.
