I just got caught in a hail storm walking home from the train. Took shelter in a parking ramp. Dime size hail. Nothing disastrous, but loud and painful. That was around 5:30pm near the Clybourn Metra station. The cell looked to be headed south towards downtown at that time.

hope everyone will be safe

Here in Aurora, the temperature went from 71 at 5:30 to 58 at 6, and now the storm part of the storm is underway. Wow, that storm sounds really bad in Chicago, hope everybody is ok.

pretty calm in the south suburbs.

Wow, that must mean more's coming this way. We already had some ridiculous hail and storms today, during this monsoon of the past week.

shutup frat boy

please, keep it all north. :D

getting just some thunder down here. all the bad stuff is passing just north and east of us through peoria and bloomington...

There was testicle-sized hail over here on the NW side. I even saved a few pieces so that I could show them to my wife. You know, so that she can see what real testicles look like.

I took some pics of the cloud formations in my area this afternoon....got some great results. There were a few cells in my immediate area, but we didn't get a lot of actual rain from this. Some of the pictures between the high clouds and dark clouds and sunset and such are really good though, I'll post them if I remember to eventually.
