BEST WISHES: Since he is a widely admired member of the Cubs traveling team, Ron Santo was sorely missed Friday. WGN radio broadcaster Santo remained in a hospital in a Chicago suburb battling a viral infection, but reported that he is improving and expects to be home soon.

Many Cubs players have the greatest respect for Santo and said they hope he comes back quickly, although he possibly could miss the first two legs of this trip (St. Louis and Houston). The Cubs go to Cincinnati to close out the journey next weekend.

:lolhitting That's hilarious. I'm surprised that he didn't notice that.

Pretty soon Santo will be up and about standing on his own two feet.

Santo's argument was so wrong he didn't have a leg to stand on.

Ron Santo was kicking himself all the way home.
