June 6, 200619 yr QUOTE(daa84 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) scrubs take tyler colvin LF from clemson At least we didn't waste a pick that high on him.
June 6, 200619 yr Is the radio that much quicker than video or something? Arizona just picked for the video
June 6, 200619 yr QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 05:18 PM) Holy s***, the Cubs took Colvin really early. Any scouting report on him?
June 6, 200619 yr The Sox might get lucky and be able to select Drabek or Walden. A power high school pitcher like that would be a damn good value pick at 29. Also, look for Beato.
June 6, 200619 yr QUOTE(Felix @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:18 PM) Is the radio that much quicker than video or something? Arizona just picked for the video The draft tracker thing is what is flying, the radio was behind the video when I turned it on.
June 6, 200619 yr QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:19 PM) Any scouting report on him? Solid, but not spectacular in every area.
June 6, 200619 yr QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) The draft tracker thing is what is flying, the radio was behind the video when I turned it on. Good to know, thanks
June 6, 200619 yr QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:18 PM) Holy s***, the Cubs took Colvin really early. That is the great Cub brass
June 6, 200619 yr QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 10:19 AM) Any scouting report on him? Ya, he's a guy both Dan and I liked as a Sox pick. He's a little less toolsy version of Drew stubbs. Here's this from one of FutureSox's writeups: Tyler Colvin, OF, Clemson Season Stats (259 AB): .359, 22 2B, 12 HR, 65 RBI, 59 R, 27 BB, 39 K, 23 SB Colvin is a late riser in this year’s draft as he has been one of the hottest hitters in the college season down the stretch. He’s 14-35 (.400) in the ACC Tournament and NCAA Regional, both of which his Tigers won, and has a 23 game hitting streak going. He has no glaring weaknesses, but also no standout strengths. He is a solid player who should be a fast riser in the minors. He should be available when the Sox pick, but if the Sox pass on him he will probably fall in the supplemental round or early 2nd round.
June 6, 200619 yr QUOTE(daa84 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:20 PM) lots of high school pitchers going higher than projected drabek to the phillies at 18
June 6, 200619 yr Damn, Jeffress is a guy I liked. He can pitch near 100 as a high school, but so could Colt Griffin, so I am not real sure what that means.
June 6, 200619 yr Sinkbeil goes at 19 to the Marlins. Pretty good collegiate pitcher out of Missouri State
June 6, 200619 yr Just talked to my source, and he said Colvin was ranked the 130th best prospect in this draft. He also said Perez has some "make-up" problems also (and not in the cosmetic way).
June 6, 200619 yr Does anybody thing Daniel Bard could slip to the Sox? It would be sweet to let him work as a reliever for us down to stretch to save innings and bring him up in Sept.
