AJ=due for a hit, and he hasn't looked too good thus far.

Yet to take a pitch.

97 pitches for Verlander through 6. 95 for Jose.

AJ has swung at all 8 pitches he has seen tonight.

A.J. needs to just take a pitch next at bat. I don't care if it's tonight, tomorrow, the next day.....take a pitch or two.

At any rate, 3-2 good guys heading to the 7th.

Do you all sense this is like the White Sox of the postseason where this 3-2

lead would be good enough?

Or are we in danger of losing still?

Pretty ridiculous. Plus he just got another 1st pitch out. Among the league leaders for that stat.

I think AJ's plan tonight was to not let Verlander get ahead of him using the fastball. He just hasn't been able to hit the first pitch fastballs.

In a perfect world Dye and Thome's homers would have been 3 run bombs.

To be honest I'd almost rather they were 3 run shots. These 1 run losses have hurt lately. At least in a blowout you know it's over early.

As a trade off for a .324 batting average, I'll take it.

The exploding bat trick.....yikes that thing went all over the place. 1 out.

He is hitting .378 when he swings at first pitch and puts it in play.

DJ: "Granderson homered into DEEP left center field..." No s*** DJ.

I hope he keeps hacking away - that's just how he does it.

That 1-0 pitch has been a strike all game.

f***

Homers into shallow left center are a lot of fun.

3-1 to Granderson, not somebody you want to walk. And Count walks him. Ugh.

A DP would be really nice here.

Kulpa has been horrible. Very inconsistant. Jose getting raw deal.

We've got to stop walking guys, especially in the last few innings of a game. Granderson's going to be at 2nd base soon.

Walks Granderson, that's basically a double.

Granderson is an awful basestealer.

I hope the Tigers just do a straight steal, as Polanco is a great guy to do a hit-and-run with.

He's only 4/8 in SB this season according to the Tigers' announcers.

Montero and Cotts up.
