Draft Pick Signings

Featured Replies

Goign to start updating this thread on draft picks that have signed:

I know we've came to terms with our 26th round pick David Wasylak who was a closer at Lubbock Christian.

I'm sure we've came to terms with more guys and I'll work on getting that updated quickly.

Matt Enuco had been expected to sign Thursday or Friday... No confirmation yet though

Any word on the negotiates with McCullogh or the two value picks at #19 and #20 (I believe that's where they were)

Pitchers Kanekoa Texeira and Justin Stires signed this week with the Chicago White Sox and both will report to Bristol, Virginia (Appalachain League) for the Sox' short season club. Texeira (Kamehameha High School, Oahu, Hawaii ), who was drafted in the 22nd round this spring, had a fine two year career with Saddleback, finishing off 2006 with a 6-2 record and a 4.82 ERA. He pitched the second most number of innings on the club (65.1), allowing 72 hits while striking out 40. Tex started 12 games for the Gauchos. Stires (El Modena High School, Orange, CA) was a 21st round draft choice in 2005, but a back injury prevented him from pitching last summer. At Saddleback, Stires was 3-3 with a 3.85 ERA.

any relation to Mark Texeira?

Oddly enough I believe he's Shance Victorino's cousin, no idea on the Mark Tex relationship.

No relation, in fact last names are spelled differently.

From the Trib on McCulloch:

"The Sox are close to an agreement with Texas pitcher Kyle McCulloch, their first-round pick in the amateur draft, on a signing bonus worth more than $1 million."

Sounds like good news.
