Why is Garland brought in to get out of somebody else's jam when he rarely gets out of his own?

Good thing this game's over right now. We have no chance to come back.

Just doesn't seem to be happening for the Sox today.

I hope I'm wrong, but the bounces and drops are all Boston right now.

I'd throw Cotts in there for the most part.

Yeah, I was actually going to include him, but he has the shortest leash on the team.

See, in a case like this, I'd bring in Jenks. He's our best reliever, is he not? I'd rather put the best reliever in when you need an out, rather than save him for the close out.

as stupid as this is to say, it just doesnt feel like 2005 anymore.

Anybody still think we don't need another righty in the 'pen?

Right now, the Red Cubs are the better team. You have to accept it. That does not mean they will be the better team in October which is when it is important. Every flaw in the White Sox has been exploited in this series. LF defense, subpar starting pitching, relying on the long ball. Luckily it is a long season.

More runs score.

Seems we can't beat good teams, just like the Tigers.

The "Tigers are nothing to worry about because they can't beat good teams argument" probably won't be brought up anymore now that we're getting our brains beat-in by the Red Sox.

Our pitching just f***ing sucks.

so....how is it gonna feel being 3 games back?

I felt that way on January 1st....

:P :D

I know what you mean, though.

It wasn't a K situation. There's two outs.

That's what I'm saying....we needed an out, and one strikeout would have done it. As jphat always says, you can't defend the bloopers. That's why sometimes your pitcher needs to nut up and get the K.

Actually we are getting closer to Cliff Politte territory.

Finally.

We need some runs, now.

Not sure. How's it feel to be like 11 back?

This is not about bounces. Jesus, they're just better than we are.

A clearly insurmountable lead at the All-Star break.

Thome slam?

About the same as it did the numerous other times we've been in that range this season. We've been hovering around the 2.5 mark for a few months it seems. Hopefully the DRays will help us out tonight. The series at NYY is much more important that this one against the Red Sox.

Heads, I know you're being sarcastic. This game is not even close to being over. But aren't you sick of this team having to battle back from big deficits 3 or 4 times a week? I know I am.

Troll.

We've given up like 5, 6, 7 runs so many times this season. Our pitching is truly garbage.

QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 08:03 PM)
Agreed. They are the better team right now. No doubt about it. I sure hope we get a chance to play them in October again.

I don't mean this negatively, but it's things like this which really make me appreciate how we won it all last year, when all the chips fell into place. This Red Sox team is so much better than the one we beat last year.

Not sure. How's it feel to be like 11 back?

I dont know. I root for a team who is 2 back right now losing by 3 to the rose hose.
