White Sox Firefox Extension

Featured Replies

For those that use Firefox, I have made an extension for White Sox links. It is nothing spectacular, but it makes browsing White Sox links much easier. All the links go directly to the White Sox section or team page on that site.

If you want to check it out, you can download it here:

http://www.pcgamingtech.net/downloads/whitesox.xpi

Just use File > Open File from Firefox to install it after you download it. It will install on the top File bar next to the Help.

Here is what it contains:

* Direct links to major sports sites (8 sites)

* Direct links to reference sites (13 sites)

* Direct links to major news sites (9 sites)

* Direct links to fan sites (4 sites)

* Direct links to blogs (9 sites)

* Direct links to player pages (normally 7-9 per player)

For those that do try it, any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT (31 MAY 2009): Updated with current roster, added new links, removed dead links.

Minor suggestion:

How about a link to each players mlb4u.com page that shows their contract info. That would come in real handy.

Thanks for your work on this BTW

EDIT - NVM didn't see you had MLB4U on there under references.

Thanks for the feedback, I am actually adding more individual player links and should have an update sometime next week.

Thanks, I will make the corrections in the next update. Did chisoxcentral.com just shut down, I went to all the links within the last 2 weeks and they all were there.

Chisoxcentral has had like 10 different names in a few month period or so it seems.

This is excellent... Thanks for all your work.

Now if I can find a bears one I will be set

Good stuff.

Is it just me, or do the links for 'schedule', 'statistics' and 'roster' not work?

They just take me to the White Sox homepage instead.

The owner gave up on it.

Good. He's been a major pain in the ass with spamming our members.

Let me check what build is on the ftp, it might not have overwritten properly.

* Update - Fixed links, added MacDougal, dropped Tracey

Also, FYI, right-clicking a link will open it in a new tab.

Thanks, just let me know if you find any bad links or links you would like added.

Hey RME-

Your baseball musings links for the hitters are off. You have them linked to the pitching section of baseball musings instead of hitting.

Here is the hitting database: http://www.baseballmusings.com/cgi-bin/ChoosePlayer.py

Yo, after I unzipped the folder, I tried opening the install file but it won't let me open it because it doesn't recognize it

Good catch, cut & paste is my enemy.

Fixed now, also added Google News player searches for all players and HR Trackers for Thome, Konerko, Dye, and Crede.

If you go to the URL in Firefox, once you download it, you should be able to open the file in Firefox (File > Open) and it should recognize it as an xpi file and automatically prompt you to install it. You shouldn't have to unzip anything. If you try to download it with IE, it will convert the xpi to a zip file.
