White Sox 1917 Throwback Jersey[2001 Edition]

Featured Replies

I want to get those White Sox sunday Jerseys they were in 2001. They were an upgrade of the 1917 ones I believe. I always liked those jerseys and wanted to get one but I didn't have a job at the time. Now I have loot, but I have no idea where to get it.

those are sweet.

I don't know where you can get them, but when looking at Triple Threat Sports to see if they had it, I saw this note next to the 1906 jersey:

"This jersey is only available THIS YEAR, so buy yours now! The 1917 style the Sox wore in 2001 to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the American League is no longer made and now impossible to find."

Looks like it will be incredibly tough to find.

They're available at the Cell. (Lower deck fan store, behind home plate. I think.) I was going to buy one, but they were too pricey. I think they wanted $225 for one, which is just more than I want to spend on a jersey.

They are sweet, though.

Well I think I'll go with that. I hope they have Crede's number on the back.

They did not wear numbers in 1917. If you get one from '17, don't put a number on it.

when i was at Grandstand in June they told me they were getting these in soon. they should have them or maybe sold out of them by now.

The 2001 versions had numbers. I got one on ebay with (gulp) Jose Canseco's number. At least there aren't names on the back.

There were a bunch on ebay a couple of years ago, but I bet that supply has dried up.

I believe that my uncle bought his from grandstand earlier this year but i am not 100% sure of it.

i got one from ebay two years ago with Canceso's number on it.Great jersey.

i still got one of those $50 Triple Threat gift certificates for callin in to Rongeys post game show.

i hope they have that '17 jersey but if they dont, any "old time" jerseys that anybody could recommend? price has no bearing.

I think that is acctually the 1917 world series jersey so try that in a search

I loved those, the majority of games I went to that year were Sunday games, when they always wore those. they wore the white hats with them too, I thought it looked damn good.

Mitchell & Ness makes some quality old school jerseys.

They're so old school they don't even know 2005 happened.

Product ID: BSWS17H_#00

Price: $250.00

Description: On April 6, 1917, President Woodrow Wilson declared war on Germany, officially entering into World War I. As a result, the American League assigned a United States Army drill sergeant to each team. The drill sergeant conducted drills with the players prior to the start of the contests. Members of the pennant winning Chicago White Sox wore American flags on the sleeves of their jersey to demonstrate patriotism. The White Sox, who posted a 100-54 record throughout the regular season, defeated the New York Giants for their second and most current World Series title.

Tsk, tsk, tsk.

When I was a kid, I had one of those glossy M&N catalogs right next to my bed, and I dunno how many hours I spent looking through that thing.
