August 30, 200619 yr Bears will be coming to a full house at new Cardinal stadium on October 16th. I am still hoping to get a ticket. If you guys haven't seen it yet you will be impressed.
August 30, 200619 yr I was so bummed when I found out that was the Monday night game. I had plans all year to go to that game cause I knew it was the Bears turn to go to AZ and than I find out its on a Monday and won't be able to make the drive out there. My dad lives out there part of the year so I'd have been golden. So Tom, hopefully you can get tix and bring him a Bear Winner. The stadium looked absolutely magnificient when I drove past it during spring training.
August 30, 200619 yr I've got a cool picture of the stadium mid construction as we're going past on the 101 Freeway (think it's call that, may be wrong). It makes the Glendale Ice Hall look tiny in comparison.

August 31, 200619 yr I havent seen it but I like what they are doing with the moving field crap or whatevr. That way you can use real grass indoors and the difference is huge between that and turf.

Also the roof will be open for most of the later games and the MNF game.

Ya, I think it takes something like 24 hr's to move it all in, but they apparently have scheduled proms there and are going to have conventions and all kinds of other stuff there so it really works well for them to have the tray of grass.

They had a production on how it works and they start at 9:00 AM the day before the game and it is real easy to move all and all. They will also hold the Fiesta Bowl (BCS title game) in Jan 2007.

I spent 3 weeks in Glendale last year and absolutely loved it. Would love to live there one day if I could get the whole visa / job thing sorted outy.

Phoenix it self still has a lot of work left but the suburbs are real nice Glendale, Avondale, Chandler, Mesa, Scottsdale are all real nice. Even in areas like Suprise, there was a lot of new housing lots being built etc. I just loved the whole desert scenery and weather over there though. And Phoenix is so wide open as well.
