with this board. Is it just me, or does there seem to be a near-record of closed threads lately? I've been here since the beginning and cant remember this many closed threads for no real reason.

The Continuing Decline Of Soxtalk (Part 1)...

The sox pride thread was the 1st time I had not even the slightest idea of why a thread was closed...usually it's for a reason that's fairly clear...

Edit: or maybe I'm seeing things...

Disregard the post as I might just be going crazy...

well its happening in other threads to. say filibuster threads.

this conversation's going no where so we'll close the thread or I don't agree with the road this thread is traveling down, so we'll close the thread.

Pretty simple, the bigger message boards get, the more people are available to be offended and complain about it.

Inmates running the asylum!! haha

Seriously though, I don't see too many threads that were closed. :huh

sox pride just opened back up again. :D

here's a perfect example of the logic used to close a thread.

I'm closing this thread.

Because nobody has anything new to say. It's a conspiracy, it's not. It's a conspiracy, it's not. This got talked out a month ago and its boring.

So if a thread is boring or repetitive to a moderator, it automatically gets closed???

That thread was the only one closed in Buster in some time, and it was closed because it was useless. Take a look through it and see. Nothing but bickering.

As for a "near record" of closed threads, I see a grand total of.... ONE.... in PHT first page. And it is quite clearly explained, in the second of two posts in there, why it was closed. What the heck are you talking about?

Do people have nothing better to do during the offseason than create controversy where none exists? On a Sox message board?

There are reasons why every thread I close is being closed. Not all of them are disclosed. Sometimes its to protect people from themselves. Sometimes its because its being bumped up for little to no reason. In this case, it was both.

Did you really read Che by John Anderson? That was long but a great read. Can someone now close this topic for going down the path of Marxism?

Just to be ironic I'm going to close this thread. Plus I enjoy hitting the icon which closes the thread so that's a plus.
