November 10, 200619 yr Bobby Jenks has moved to Chicago and is working with a nutritionist. Jenks saved 41 games last season, but that came with a 4.00 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP. He clearly has the talent to be one of the game's truly outstanding closers, and taking better care of himself may help him get to that level. He's listed at 280 pounds and he may have been heavier than that last season. Rotoworld

November 10, 200619 yr QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 07:47 AM) Of maybe the weight loss throws off his mechanics and he regresses. He seemed like he gained what, 20-40 pounds before last season, and his top fastball went from being 102 to 98 (and even slower earlier in the season). I'm hoping he gets a little better range of motion if he drops some of the weight, and it jumps his heater back up to the triple digits.
November 10, 200619 yr QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 09:47 AM) Of maybe the weight loss throws off his mechanics and he regresses. He has been throwing near 100 since he was a lot younger, and he wasnt this heavy back then. I think if anything, his coming into ST last year out of shape and heavier caused more issues that anything. He needs to run, run and doing some more running. That and not eating thirds and he will be fine for 07.
