There is a lot of crossover, but there are major differences. Southern Rock is Rock with a southern feel. Country rock is rock with country influences. You won't hear .38 Special on a country station, but you will hear the Eagles. You won't hear Shania Twain on a rock station. Read through the southern rock links, very little cross over to country and western charts. Southern does not equal country.
