Where was this "party" because the Illini were most likely in Bloomington by that time. So I'm going to call BS on that.

The accident happened Monday night in Champaign.

Like I said yesterday, the people that I'm referring to have a lot more significant contacts than you and I in regards to the Illini program. I've never once said that any of this stuff is fact....it's just what is out there right now.

Or it's on an Illini freeboard right now as I read this. And with most things, the internet loves to put it's own spin on things. They claime WDWS reported such a thing, when in fact it was nothing more than them talking about the possibility of it.

And did I not say that a rumor going around that hasn't been confirmed in regards to the party? The other stuff I mentioned came from probably one of the 2 or 3 most respected Illini insiders.

The more information I'm hearing, the worse this gets. The latest tidbits going around is that there was a 2 hour span between the accident and Smith calling 911. The blood tests are for confirmation of what the breathlyzer showed, but supposedly breathlyzer's aren't permissible in court in this situation due to it being taken 2 hours after the accident at the hospital. A rumor going around that has yet to be confirmed is that there was a basketball party on Friday night, and another player might be in trouble for providing alcohol to minors. Hopefully these sources are wrong, but this might be the beginning of the end for Weber.

That's what I'm asking about. I know when and where the accident happened.

Crap, that should have stated Monday night. I'll go back and edit that.

Herb Gold? Loren Tate? Mark Tupper? Paul Klee?

If it were any of these guys, I'd like to read about it.

Isn't it a little far-fetched to think Smith got into this accident while driving a car totally intact with a clear mind, but then was so dazed he left his friend basically to die in the car although he was able to navigate a car that most likely would be a lot tougher to drive home?

Not really depending on the facts. Some say he went into his apartment to call the police and left his blinking lights on on his car to draw attention to the vehicle. Others say just the opposite.

Jamar came back to Champaign very briefly Thursday to visit Brian and see how he was doing, then went right back home. Also, Brian is going to be on the bench Sunday, barring a setback, but Jamar won't be.

As for the party....I hadn't heard a word about it, so if it was going on, the coaches had no idea. And I also heard the reason the breathelizer test results aren't going to go public are because Jamar isn't 21, but I'm not sure if that's true or not.

Either way, even if Jamar WASN'T drunk somehow, he's a complete idiot and is still facing felony charges because he didn't call for help within half an hour of an accident he caused, that injured somebody else to the point where they had to stay at least overnight in the hospital (and obviously more in this case).

Jamar went into his apartment, and either didn't call police at all, or had a long enough delay in calling them that somebody else who noticed the car from another apartment called, and help arrived, before Jamar did a thing. Either way that's a BIG problem.

The DA in Champaign is expected to say and/or do something tomorrow. I expect news on whether or not Jamar was drunk and/or had alcohol in his system. Even if we find out he didn't have alcohol in his system (which is possible, but not likely), I'm still assuming Jamar is in deep, deep trouble due to leaving the scene as well as the fact that i'm almost positive he was under the influence of something other than alcohol that evening, and that test is still a few weeks away from being done. Tomorrow should be interesting though.
