Felix
Since I'm off in college this year and don't have a job, I'm not going to be getting MLB.tv like I have in the past. Instead, I'm debating getting MLB Gameday Audio, since its much cheaper, and I actually get to pick what broadcasters I want to listen to. However, I don't know much about it. I know some people on here use it, what do you guys think about it? I'd rather not have to use Soxtalk or MLB.com for game updates, but if it's got bugs (constantly goes out, unavailable at times... whatever), I'd rather not buy it. So yea, any advice? (also, I wasn't quite sure which forum to put this in, here or the Diamond Club. If I'm wrong about placing it here, sorry in advance) Edited March 27, 2007 by Felix
Balta1701
I won't say it doesn't have bugs, but for $15 for the whole season, I think it's worth it. I do an awful lot of work sitting at my computer in a windowless basement office, and that's 3 good hours of listening work I get. The audio is usually pretty good. There'll be a few times throughout the season it'll go down for no good reason, and lately I've had a bit of a problem with some skipping sounds, but that could just be my connection/4 year old PC. It's also pretty darn nice those few games during the year which simply aren't broadcast because Fox owns the licenses. You can log onto your computer at home and still follow the game. Although, if I had the money and a faster PC, I'd spend it on MLB.TV just to get Hawk & DJ.
RME JICO
You can't go wrong for $15. The quality is decent and it doesn't require a ton of bandwidth (20K/sec). I haven't noticed any issues with it this spring. (You also get 3 months of SI mag for free, if you care).

What are those of us who get blacked out of Sox games in Carbondale on MLB.tv for some f***in reason and have now been completely screwed out of getting the extra innings package supposed to do? Well for starter you could quit your b****ing. Once you've done that you can use a proxy server to get around the blackout, I did this in '05 and it worked just fine for me. 3 BeWareTheNewSox 5
I am in market and got it with my Sox Pride subscription last year, great for the price. Honestly, I didn't use it as much as I expected, with not that much free time after already watching the Sox game, but I would recommend it. There's some good radio guys out there, and I like hearing the opposition take on our team a lot, so yes I'd recommend it.
