Charlotte sends Sweeney and Reynoso to DL

any word on whats wrong with Sweeney?

Also, I think it was said that Lucy and Collaro are getting promoted to AAA.

Also, is Brian Anderson still active? If so, why? Isn't he done for like the rest of the season?

I thought that was NSS guess.

They could use another pitcher more than they need another catcher, but if Lucy is coming up like another poster said, they still need an OF badly.

BB2ZZ had said that it was Collaro and Lucy, though I could not find confirmation.

Also, they played Rogowski and Bourgeois in the outfield yesterday. ???

No word yet on who is getting called up.

By the way, where did you read that? I can never figure out where you guys get this news, because its never on the team sites.

ETA: This article from yesterday says Sweeney has been bothered by a sore wrist, and also adds that Wiki Gonzalez has a sore elbow (see Tidbits under Charlotte).

Up to B-Ham or to Charlotte for McCullough and Armstrong? David Cook - that's interesting.

And why move Ricks up for 2 games, then send him back down? I swear, its like the Sox minor league system suddenly went schizophrenic the last few days.

I would like to see Egbert in Charlotte, but that might make too much sense.

If McCulloch is headed up, one of Egbert or Gio could be headed to Charlotte.

hopefully Gio... but if it was up to me, both of them would be headed up.

Neither, McCulloch is filling a hole in the Barons rotation.

The Secret Scrolls.

I got the Bham related transactions from their media guy, the Warthogs ones from the game notes they send me, and the Kanny ones from the game notes they put on their website.

Sounds like a lot of this player movement was necessary due to injuries vs. strictly being a promotion. No matter. It will be good for these young players to get a taste at a higher level. Cole Armstrong got a bunch of playing time in spring, it seemed like they really wanted to see what he could do.

Casey has been playing leftfield on and off since they signed Craig Wilson and Jason Bourgeois has been thrown in CF for a couple of weeks now.

The sore wrist for Sweeney could explain why he's been in a Slump lately.

I know I'm probabley the only person who cares, but whats wrong with Reynoso???

No idea.

And yes, you might be the only person that cares. :P

Let's hope McCullough can keep his recent good momentum up in B-Ham.

And another wrist injury for Sweeney, that's not really good is it.

I thought he had one last season (or I could just be completely wrong here)?

Sweeney missed a month and a half of the 2005 season after spraining a tendon and tearing cartilage in his write wrist.

Thanks, Gage.

speaking of promotions, I'd like to see Schnur promoted to AA and Carter up to W-S.

The fans in B'ham demand the Schnur!
