February 6, 200818 yr Just saw this: Winter storm warning. Rain/sleet south, snow/sleet Chicago and north and west, becoming all snow, turning heavy. Worst conditions mid- to late morning into afternoon. Strengthening northeast winds, 35-50 m.p.h. gusts. Drifting snow. Possible thundersnow with whiteout conditions. 8-14 inches Chicago, and north and west. 1-3 inches far south. WTF?
February 6, 200818 yr I was expecting all of this overnight. We now have a few inches but it looks like it is getting horrible.
February 6, 200818 yr Downtown is quiet right now. I don't know how things are at my house, my wife is volunteering at our kid's school right now so I can't call her.
February 6, 200818 yr Author My commute home (Des Plaines -> Woodridge) might crack 3 hours. it was over 2:30 last Thursday. I'm so sick of this snow!
February 6, 200818 yr Carbondale is weird as hell now. Tornado warnings all night last night and I guess one was in the area and at one point while I was walking into the basketball game the temperature literally dropped about 20 degrees, it was the strangest thing ever. It's been about 65 the last few days down here but supposedly we might be getting snow soon too. Weird weather indeed.

It can get crazy but when you get that annual 10 days of 80 degree weather in mid to late March....it all seems ok!
February 6, 200818 yr Yeah, just cool enough to require long sleeves and pants, but not too cold to need a coat, and the sunshine, wow.
