since i dont know hot to change the topic of my previous thread id just like to inform everyone that I have created a new keepers league.

Everyones welcome but id prefer serious players because i do want this to go on for multiple years. At the end of the year if i dont here from you, your team will be deleted and all players will be put into next years draft (if thats possible, if not i know i can take over)

I'm in. As I said in the Fantasy setup thread or whatever you wanna call it, I haven't been a big fan of roto, but I'm willing to give it another try and besides I've wanted to get in a keeper league. Any chance of expanding the stats to include doubles, triples and BBs? Not a big deal, if not.

If you think it will make this league better consider it done, im open to all suggestions. im on there right now and the changes will be made shortly. I'm assuming you're the almighty blasters???? Welcome aboard, tell your friends, i wanna get this up and running ASAP.

 

P.S. when you say BBs are you meaning hitters or pitchers??? as it stands now I have added both along with doubles and triples.

up to 5 people already in, i hate the fact that i had to go outside of soxtalk to get more people but ive only gotten one guy from soxtalk....join now so we can get this show on the road

i have just up the amount of SP to 3 and the amount of general Ps to 4, A guy who joined thought itd be good to work with more pitchers.

Oh, I agree. I like the changes. For a draft time, any time after 10:30pm Chicago time or any time in the morning would be fine, up until noon. Sunday...any time, night or day.

I will expand the field, i like the idea of having more people from this board in that the league, I feel its better then emailing. It looks like we got 2 more of you that wanna join so the field will expand to 10.

theres been a request to have the whole team be kept after the season. I dont really like the idea but if you guys want it then it'll happen. as it stands now i have it 2 batters 2 pitchers and 1 extra....i may increase it to 4 4 and 2....from the looks of it there are 3 spots open that need to filled before SUNDAYS DRAFT AT 2PM EST.

I'd prefer standard 5x5 roto.....but im in. I suggest making it the same as the other Soxtalk keeper league for comparisons sake. I think that would be interesting...

i kinda wanted it to be roto too but im a man of the people and so far me and you are the only ones wanting roto, im glad you still joined, if possible i might switch the format next year.

Either way. I'm mainly just against adding new categories like 2B and 3B. Standard 5x5 stat categories is the best whether its roto or head to head. Adding in multiple categories throws some funky player ratings into the game imo. Perhaps just compromise at use the standard 5x5 stat categories but do head to head. Best of both worlds.

I'm a stat nut. I like having having extra stat categories, but that's just me. If y'all think it'd be better without extra stats it'd be ok. I was in a league a couple of years ago that had I think 28 different stats. Even I thought that was too much.There were lots of categories especially in pitching that enabled the guys who didn't stay active to benefit from not having full lineups. That sucked. However, I like having doubles and triples and (hitters) BBs. Guys like Swisher and Dunn are so much more valuable because of the BBs. Last year, in a league that counted triples, I had the good fortune to have Granderson.

i like adding either walks or OPS. just one though - i like 6x6 w/ either k/9 or hld or something like that thrown in.

I would take BB out for pitchers because that's really already covered in WHIP. Also, I think the number of stat categories for offense and pitching should be equal. Currently, the offense has more categories and thus is more important. It should be even, imo.

 

I'd suggest adding OPS for hitters (while taking out 2B, 3B, and BB as it takes in those stats) and subtracting BB for pitchers as its in WHIP already. That way it's at 6x6 and its now even between pitching and hitting.

I like 2-2-1. That seems like a successful rule. Keeping the whole team take away from the best part of fantasy baseball, imo, the draft.

It will indeed be 2-2-1! just for s***s and giggles after the draft is complete i think we should all do our 2-2-1 and then at the end of the year see how our final decisions differ from the choices we made previously.....I look forward to this league and hope you can all make it.
