February 17, 200818 yr QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 02:15 PM) Its only a couple of weeks recovery. 4 weeks > a couple...but either way, If I'm the brewers I'd rather have him getting hurt now than in the actual season. For reference...this sort of thing was actually somewhat predicted for Gallardo a week or so ago by Verducci, who noted that Gallardo's workload increased by 45+ innings between 2006 and 2007, and it seems to be a trend that if you push a pitcher's workload up by more than 30 innings in 1 season they have a habit of getting hurt in the next one.

This is true...but still. If the Brewers weren't already going to be cautious enough with the youngster's workload.... It's going to be just as frustrating from a fan's perspective.
