Breaking in a new baseball cap

Featured Replies

Yesterday was my birthday, and one of the gifts I received was a new Sox cap.

This is actually the first time I've had a fitted cap as opposed to an adjustable cap.

It needs to be broken in.

This got me thinking. How do you go about breaking in your baseball caps? What better place to talk about it than here?

just wear it and break it in naturally.

Nowadays I wear my cap straight billed no bend in it.Kinda tougher look.

LOL, if that's how you want to term it.

I have a 'perfect curve', that helps the bill out. Otherwise you can use a rubber band if you're careful with it.

Also, wearing it in the rain for a little while helps it form to your head better. That or get a decent sweat going in it.

They have cap holders that fit inside the cap that help it to keep shape. They are made so that you can put it in the dishwasher and clean it.

It might help to re-size it some*.

*/I'm not at fault if anything happens though, I've never tried it myself. :)

Curve the bill with your hands, secure the curve by sticking the bill in a cup, and just leave it for awhile

I just wear it, bend the bill when it needs to be bend more, and keep doing that every time I wear it. My head must be getting bigger or something because older hats are tight on me.

i've heard of taking a shower with it on as well.

or you could just wear it for 5 years until it's definitely "broken in"......among other things.

I luv how a new cap looks, with just the right bend.

Still bothers me that my Sox cap with the WS logo shrunk after getting soaked on Opening Day 2006. Went from the perfect fit to a little too tight for my liking.

look at naked pictures of Diablo Cody while wearing it... it'll curl your toes and your hat.
