Seems to me Schlitz was the beer of choice sold at old Comisky for quite a while...then I started thinking it was Falstaff (back in the 60's). I know they switched to Strohs for a year or two...but then wondered if they had a Hamm's in there for a bit too. Anybody remember?

if you were old enough to drink in the 60's lets say that was 40 years ago that would make you at least 61 now. do we have any one that old posting on here ? I'm old but was just a kid about 10 in 1968. I do remember the Hamm's commercials with the bear. Hamm's the beer refreshing. Hamm's the beer refreshing. Hammmm's.

I wasn't old enough. I was born in '60. I'd remember if I was drinkin' it. But I remember Harry gettin' hammered in the booth. He'd be s***faced by the 4th inning of the second game of a doubleheader.

Born in '63 so not quite old enough, but I remember Harry doing Falstaff commercials (and seemingly drinking half the brewery).

I remember the Hamm's commercials more during Cubs games. (My Dad hated the Sox, so we watched more Cubs games when I was a kid. He called Comiskey Park "that boneyard", as in "I'll never take you to that boneyard!" lol)

When I was that age it was 19. I turned 19 in October (of '79) and they switched it to 21 that Jan 1 and didn't even have the nads to Grandfather Clause it. So I had 2 1/2 mo. to drink legally. But I was a master of the ID doctoring...so it didn't matter too much.

Yea i was probably watching the cubs games too since they were on wgn but so were the sox and they might have run them during the bears games too.

Maybe if I drink one right now, it will kick my 'beer memory' back in. Yeah, I think I'll try that.

yea with Jack Drees announcing but i know Brickhouse and WGN would do Sox games to. I was born in Dec 57.

I was born in '50 but I don't like beer so I wouldn't know. One time when Harry was doing a game from the centerfield bleachers I was sitting practically right next to him. It was very cool and yes he was drinking nearly the whole game.

I specifically remember drinking tons of Fallstaff and Strohs beer at the old ballpark in the late 1970's, yelling, "Beer ovah Heah" from the right field bleachers, the vendors would pop open the cans right there in the stands, and pour it in cups for you.......

 

Anyone remember the old slogan: "Stroh A Party?"

I remember buying a beer in August 1987 at Old Comiskey for $2.50. I can buy a beer at the minor league park in Billings today for $3.50 and it would be a Widmer or something similar. What's the beer in Chicago today?
