MARK BUEHRLE IS NOT AN ACE!!!!1!!11

His command is back to where it was in 2006, where hitters could just lean on pitches over the plate. His innings to hit ratio is brutal so far. His fastball is better than it was two years ago, so there's cause for optimism.

His ERA would probably be cut in half though if Cabrera had made defensive plays in his two bad starts.

And Mark again will probably be near the bottom in run support. He should have an easy extra 10-15 wins in his career with even average run support. He still has to pitch better, but it is a shame.

What, now it's our position player's fault that he can't throw a no hitter everytime out?

How dare you, Uribe is terrible, he should never put on a White Sox uniform ever again!

DEFENSIVELY of course.

If Ozzie's trotting "El Tree Stump" out there every game, at least play him at SS where he's superior to Cabrera - easily.

I don't know where I stand on this. Sure OCab is having a shaky beginning, but he has what, 2 gold gloves that he sent back to his country to get melted down. and Uribe has none. Im willing to give Cabrera the BOTD and allow for better weather before I start judging his glove.

Derek Jeter has some gold gloves too, and he's terrible defensively.

I'm in the camp of "Gold Gloves are Media-hyped Bulls***."

Crede and Uribe both (also Rowand), deserved a shot at a Gold Glove a few times since 2004; but, Eric Chavez and Derek Jeter (also Torii Hunter) were cemented in there by the writers because they were "name" guys.

Well Chavez is a stud at the hot corner when he's capable of walking so I have no real beef there and from what I've seen Adrian Beltre as probably been the best defensive 3B in the AL since '05 so perhaps he has a gripe. But yeah Torii Hunter played 93 games in CF in '05 and still won a GG and Derek Jeter is just a joke in general.

You got me there.......just a little bit though

They need to change the name of Golden Glove, or have another "all around" award and get back to some defensive recognition. But clearly glove is misleading in who gets these awards. even factoring in "clutch" fielding.

Chavez is very good, but Crede in '04/'05 was comparable in the field, IMO.

As I mentioned, there is room for him to pitch better. But Mark needs to be near perfect to win games. Having some run support hides some problems.

Did not see that, but Tex is absolutely correct.

Mark has been hit hard this year, regardless of how much the defense botches plays behind him, or run support he gets. Its all well and fine to say his numbers would be better if there was consistent defense behind him, but that doesnt make up for the fact that he is giving up a s***ton of hits, walks are up more than normal for him, and he is just getting all-around hammered a lot more this year....

And it sucks that the thread title was changed.
