MLB.com all star voting update

Featured Replies

With only 30 hours left to vote on MLB.com and ESPN.com for the final position player on each league's All-Star Team, the races remain tight.

As of noon today a record more than 5 million ballot votes have been cast in the etopps All-Star Final Vote program, compared to the 3 million ballots cast for the entire voting period last year.

Jason Varitek of the Boston Red Sox continues to lead the American League candidates with Frank Thomas of the Chicago White Sox in second place and gaining quickly. Eric Byrnes of Oakland, Jason Giambi of the Yankees and Bengie Molina follow in that order.

The National League contest for the final position player spot is practically a dead heat with Geoff Jenkins of the Milwaukee Brewers having overtaken last night's leader Benito Santiago of the San Francisco Giants by a narrow margin. Luis Castillo of the Marlins, Orlando Cabrera of the Expos and Kenny Lofton of the Pittsburgh Pirates who replaced the injured Corey Patterson all remain in the hunt.

Voting continues through 6 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, July 9 on MLB.com and ESPN.com

Just keep voting and don't worry about officials. The only official I care about is the ones voting for all-star MVP Frank Thomas!!! :headbang :headbang :cheers

I'm loving this. Come on all, lets keep stuff on those ballots. Afterall it is the Chicago way ;)

I'm from Chicago, I only voted once. It would be wrong to have voted over 100 times and had a temp vote for most of a 6 hour shift.

Poor temp!!

Poor temp!!

Funny thing is she's been in the US for like 2 weeks, this is her first job, and my buddy hadn't planned on her being here this week. Then he thought "what the hell I can teach her some computer skills". :D She's really quick with the mouse and entering numbers.

I tried to get my buddy that owns the temp agency to begin testing by how fast they can enter a validation code and click on Frank's name ;) He declined.
