Indispensible Travel Tools

Featured Replies

Its been a long time since I did any serious traveling... but

--deck of cards

--money belt

--US dollars and a few travelers checks (maybe a few euros too)

--the usual array of pills

--one good, long (but not big) book

--tabasco sauce

--leatherman

--concentrated soap

Three of each - shirts, underwear, socks and pants.

Sox cap.

There is lots more.. depends on your destination and time of year...

My mom has actually worked for American Airlines as a flight attendant for 37 years so Ive flown ridiculous amounts. One of the newer things bothering me is the people who dont take their laptops out of the bags when they go through the line or the people without their ids out. As far as on the plain. I stopped using my laptop to watch dvds so for the most part I play games on my cell phone or read. Wifi is in the works on airplanes though so I am very excited for that. I cant imagine anything would make a flight easier than being able to go online.

Yeah. That's what I was trying to get at with my earlier post.

Absolute must haves?

Book.

Another Book.

Passport, Wallet, Cell phone.

Depending on where I travel, sometimes an iPod and/or Laptop.

Everything else can be taken care of if necessary.

Yeah, those are always weird moments - not knowing where you are, laying in the dark. Funny later, but a bit freaky at the time, when you are half asleep.

That happened to me once in Prague, but I think that was the Absinthe's fault.

which reminds me, flying with a hangover, Worst.Experience.Ever

No matter what city or what time of year it is, I always carry on a thick hoodie. Why is it always so cold on planes??

  • 2 weeks later...

I just saw this. If I was still flying all the time, it seems like a nice investment. I hated pulling out my laptop every damn time.
