Of course, they still have the 13-0 score from the Cubs/Sox game the previous day. I'm sure that would have conveniently disappeared had the scores been reversed.

Do they realize how much closer LA is to Glendale than Chicago? I mean...

I was thinking about still having the score from yesterday on the 1st page, too because I looked after the Sox game today was over. It's not like I care much though. I can read plenty about the Sox here or in some of the best Sox blogs.

Yea it's like you look at that story and go DUH !!! Los Angeles isn't that far from Phoenix so it makes sense that more southern californian's go there to vacation or retire. Would you expect more Chicagoans to see the Wisconsin Dells or Californians ??

top notch reporting. i read spring training reports so i know how many sox fans were at a spring training game.

So how many spring training ticket selling championships have the Cubs won?

Meh, such a non-story to report about, but let's calm down over the "sox vs. cubs" stuff.

 

Could it be possible that some Chicago people are going in march (like me with my spring break)? Also, the Dodgers do have more of a national following IMO.

The Dodgers also used to be The Team in Phoenix before the Diamondbacks came to Phoenix. Dodgers games were broadcast locally until the Diamondbacks were born and that's only eleven years ago.

 

That said, I was at the game Sunday, and the disparity was pretty shocking.

What a stupid-ass story. Hell...looks who's clubhouse/office facility is almost twice the size as the Dodgers. Write about that Rick.

I believe this is known in the biz as "filler".

The Trib is beyond bankrupt...and this is a glaring example as to why.

Tiny little story (not even done by a beat writer, Gonzales was on his way home from Phoenix for a week) without even a picture, certainly no bold headlines...took me a couple of minutes just to find it even.

LAS VEGAS - John Danks tossed three scoreless innings and Ben Broussard's single drove in Josh Kroeger with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the White Sox to a 7-6 win over the Cubs on Wednesday night in a split squad game for both teams. The two teams will play again in Las Vegas on Thursday at 3:05 p.m. Danks scattered three three hits, struck out four and walked none. Aaron Poreda allowed one earned run over the last three innings for the win. David Patton took the loss for the Cubs. The Sox got homers from Michael Restovich, Paul Konerko and Wilson Betemit.
