Ban ED ads?

So the gist of this is that Rep. Moran from VA wants to push legislation that would make ED ads considered "indecent" so the FCC can ban them. Now, I'm not a social conservative, and certainly not a prude, but I can see where he and the people asking for this are coming from. The ads for the most part are tastefully done (with the exception of Extenze, a blatant scam that I'm surprised is allowed on TV), but at certain times they are EVERYWHERE and it's kind of obnoxious after a while. Plus the ones on the radio are much more explicit, which is awkward as hell when I'm driving a car full of 6th grade girls to the mall or whatever.

edit: Not banned, but restricted from being shown between 6 am and 10 pm.

I don't know about banning them but maybe restricting them to certain times of the day and/or TV and radio stations.

I don't know why they even need to have ads for this stuff. Dosen't it kind of sell itself?

No one wants to here about old dudes getting erections.

i.e. not once per quarter during a football game, maybe.

Cialis and Viagra are annoying as all hell, their commercials are just repetitive and bad. The commercial with the happy guy(Enzyte?) makes me laugh though

They gotta make their money before their patent runs out and you can get 200 for $5 and America will be renamed BONER LAND

Yeah, I am not exactly looking forward to the day when my three year old asks a question about one of them during a game of some sort.

An actual Footnote in Justice Stevens's dissent on the recent Court/FCC ruling stating that networks could be fined for random expletives broadcast over their channels:

It is ironic, to say the least, that while the FCC patrols the airwaves

for words that have a tenuous relationship with sex or excrement,

commercials broadcast during prime-time hours frequently ask viewers

whether they too are battling erectile dysfunction or are having trouble

going to the bathroom.
