Why Would the Bulls Offer Pippen Two Years

Featured Replies

Are they freaking nuts. For cryin out loud is Paxon an absolute moron. I don't give a damn how much of a leader Pippen is, he's going to be useless in two years and the Bulls are going to have no options next year to get better.

Just sign Posey and tell the fans that they tried to get Pip. Posey is a much better long term solution and I think he's a better player at this stage of the game anyway.

Are they freaking nuts.

Yes and they proved when they took Kirk Hinrich over T.J. Ford among others.

I doubt that. Real fans are happy. The bulls management is happy. The bulls players are happy. People who truly understand the game know exactly what Pip can bring to this team.

While I ripped the move, I do like Pippen and think he'll be a good addition. I just think they are fools if they think he's worth signing to a two year deal. Should of just been a one year deal.

Its not going to hurt the bulls future. they want a short term guy like pip and blount so theyre able to give the young guys the money they need, when the time comes. Its a logical move.

This is why he didn't get offers to play for any playoff caliber teams.

???? San Antonio and Dallas wanted him. Portland also talked about bringing him back, but couldn't afford it.

There were rumors & rumblings of other teams having interest, but the Bulls were the only ones to make an offer.

Portland and Dallas could only offer the minimum. If he was going to take the $5 mil from the Bulls they could only offer $1.8 mil. They tried to convince him to come, but there is no point in making an offer if there is that Pippen was pretty sure about Chicago.

The Bulls wanted him the most. I'm pretty sure he had a meeting with Memphis and Portland knew they couldn't re-sign him, but they wanted to.
