I can be pateint enough to see him on the Opening Day roster in 2010. If he gets the call-up this year, we'll already be in real deep s***, and then to make matters worse lets go ahead and put extra pressure on our young prized phenom to pull a team out of a funk. No thanks.

I agree with this. But, the evidence seems to suggest that this will happen instead:

He is coming sooner than later. If the plan was to keep him down, he would be in AA playing with the new core. The only reason he is in AAA is to play 3rd. And the only reason for that is the Fields struggle. The minute they moved him up, started a clock that only the braintrust knows. He is coming.

I think Slayers debut depends solely on Josh Fields' performance, with that said I voted before ASB.

Even if Gordon gets called up this year and plays the reminder of the season and postseason at 3B I agree with Heads that Gordon will be playing 2B in 2010 with Tank or FA being our 3B.

Slayers debut depends on how Pods does at the top of the order. If Pods does well than theoretically Slayer could actually come up at two different spots, 2B or 3B (If Pods falls off, than Getz might have to stay because he's one of the few guys that might be capable of leading off). I say that because Getz, as much as I like him, isn't excatly lighting the world on fire so if Fields hits, the Sox will still bring Beck's up shortly it just might be in Getz place. And if they both hit, well its a good problem to have but Beckham is king to both of them.

what number will slayer be rockin?

I stand by the statements I made in this thread. So far I see people are excited, but there is no separation between excitement and high expectations. Be patient with him, give him time.
