May 31, 200916 yr I cant think of the last time he has hit 99. Maybe the guns wrong Has he thrown that hard this year?
May 31, 200916 yr He's done it this year. When he gets the adrenaline going he tends to get it up there. I think it's a combination of adrenaline and time off for Jenks' velocity. He hasn't pitched in a week so he's probably feeling real strong right now and his last outing was a blown save, he's looking for the redeemer here.
May 31, 200916 yr QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 30, 2009 -> 08:32 PM) he's looking for the redeemer here. And He just got it
May 31, 200916 yr Judging by the lack of control and break on his curveball, I could believe he was throwing 98-99 tonight, because until that last curve, it didn't look like his lollipop curve at all. He was throwing it too hard.
May 31, 200916 yr A 100 MPH pitch from Bobby that goes for a ball isn't as effective as him throwing a 94 MPH pitch for Strike 1. C'mon, peeps, for the last 4 yrs, all Bobby wants is to throw Strike 1 and he's been far more effective with 94+ than he is at 100. He can still throw 100, he just throws more strikes when he pitches it at a lower speed. Edited May 31, 200916 yr by Allsox
May 31, 200916 yr I was a little worried after Teahan got that hit. I was envisioning a home run that would have been crippling. Then he threw that high heat and followed it with an amazing curveball. Hail to Bobby Jenks! Edited May 31, 200916 yr by greg775
May 31, 200916 yr The Royals broadcast had him at 103 once, then 100, then 99. I imagine they were a bit off, but Bobby hasn't shown that kind of velocity since Game 163.
May 31, 200916 yr I was impressed with the heat he was bringing and glad to see it. He didn't have it with the curve until that last pitch. It looked pretty good
