So the only ones that are clean (never really linked to anyone) all played for the Sox (Junior, Thome, and Thomas).

So, you are not counting Sosa's years with the Sox but you will count Griffey's half season?

I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that Sosa weighed 190 pounds and hit 28 career HR with the Sox and Griffey was like 38.

WOW, 1998 was a hilarious year....

Mark McGwire 70 HR

Sammy Sosa 66 HR

Ken Griffey Jr. 56 HR

Greg Vaughn 50 HR

Albert Belle 49 HR

Joe Canseco 46 HR

Vinny Castilla 46 HR

Manny Ramirez 45 HR

Juan Gonzalez 45 HR

Andres Galarraga 44 HR

Rafael Palmeiro 43 HR

He said the "ones that are clean (never really linked to anyone)"

Sosa doesn't fit that criteria.

BearSox beat me to it.

That said, the answer is Griffey. Bonds may have hit 600 without the roids.

LOL@Greg Vaughn. It'd be easy for me to slam all these guys. But I'd be a hypocrite to do so. I absolutely loved the offensive explosions from the mid 90's through the first few years of this decade. I love slugfests. Unless it's the Sox, in which case the ideal for me would be for them to win every game 10-0, I love 12-10 games.

Brady Anderson's 50 HR in '96 is pretty ridiculous too.

It's sad how Griffey's 56 HRs don't even seem to matter in the context of the rest of those cheaters.

Damn, the balls were really juiced that year.

And was 98 one of those years where Frank somehow totally sucked?

Frank only had 29...and then the next year had some injuries and only hit 15. Then he bounced back with a great 2000, as Giambi's cheating ass took the MVP.
