August 11, 200322 yr JG: Aug: SX 0-2, 10R, 10ip -> just 2 starts That's 2 bad starts in a row for Jon. Should we be concerned? Last night wasn't all his fault. Those 3 runs shoulda never scored in the 1st inning. Other then that he was fine. Lilly was just better... very much agreed the As got 6 outs (1 official error, I could of been an error, and the lost in the sun non catch) and a very lucky hit in the 1st inning

August 11, 200322 yr I realize that there were extenuating circumstances for Jon's last 2 starts that inflated his era. Errors never being scored as errors & of course the ignorance of JM as a manager. But on the same note his walks increased & his control has not looked as good. I'm a SOX fan. So I won't post Magic Numbers until the SOX have regained first place. :fthecubs :sosasucks After the Astros win this series I'll start posting Houston MN's :
August 12, 200322 yr Aug 12 KC wins Sox lose Twins win KC 0 GB Sox 1.5 GB Twins 2.5 GB That was a HUGE victory for KC! Winning 12 - 9 vs the Yanks! Any loss in confidence they encurred from the SOX series has been swept away. They're in position now to take 2/3 from the Evil Empire. If they do that, they're going to be hard to overcome. It continues to shape up like every game vs the Twinks & KC the rest of the way is a playoff game for the SOX. The difference in sched strength demands it.
August 13, 200322 yr Royals shut out at home We win handily on road Twins lose easily I think at home .5 back
August 13, 200322 yr Royals shut out at home We win handily on road Twins lose easily I think at home .5 back Ha, over the past two days, we have gained NO ground and lost NO ground I'd much rather tread water then lose ground. Then again, I'd much rather gain ground then tread water.
August 13, 200322 yr Royals shut out at home We win handily on road Twins lose easily I think at home .5 back Twins did lose at home. And if anyone saw, Pierzynski was up representing tying man with 2 out in the bottom of the ninth. He was facing Baez and blasted one to deep right doing a reverse imitation of the Fisk World Series HR. It hit the giant baggie in right field about a foot or two to the right of the fair pole. The fans were sittin right by it had a perfect view and they were all upset. AJ fouled off another 7 or 8 pitches and finally struck out. Ahhh I just love to see Cleveland beat Minnesota.
August 16, 200322 yr this has been idle fr a few days - as I post this the MLB board says we are 1.5 games out of first
August 16, 200322 yr this has been idle fr a few days - as I post this the MLB board says we ae 1.5 games out of first We are 1 1/2 out before playing tonight. I guess with the fade, Murcie isn't as keen on keeping up?
August 17, 200322 yr CLE will factor big time in this race. They are playing much better of late. 2/3 vs SEA, 3/4 vs ANA, & 3/4 @ MIN, 1/2 vs TB. They've won 5/7 vs MIN in the 2nd 1/2. Remaining games vs CLE: MIN: 8 KCR: 6 SOX: 3 Yet another reason not to give up the ship!
August 18, 200322 yr http://www.obsoletecomputermuseum.org/magi...magicexpo.shtml One method, endorsed by Major League Baseball is to take the number of games remaining for the division leaders, add 1, then subtract the difference in the number of losses between the leaders and the second place team. In other words: M = G1 + 1 - ( L2 - L1 ) Oh geezus.. let's just win by a lot so we don't have to worry about this s***!

August 22, 200322 yr Ahhhhhh ... it feels so good to do the update today Magic Numbers SOX: 163 - 61 - 54 = 48 KCR: 163 - 60 - 54 = 49 MIN: 163 - 58 - 54 = 51 Any combination of 48 SOX wins or losses by both (KC & MIN) & the SOX win the division! I had a feeling that KC would struggle vs TAM because Pinella has them playing better of late (winning 7 of last 10). As you can see MIN is still within striking distance having won 7/10 as well. For you sCrUB fans: SOX .530 winning %, sCrUBs .518 winning %. :fthecubs :sosasucks ME SOOOOOO HAPPPPYYYY!!!!! ALC Magic Numbers: SOX: 163-67-61= 35 MIN : 163-66-61= 36 KCR: 163-65-61= 37 Baseball has not seen such a close divisional race in MANY a year! Party hardy dudes & smack the Rangers with Cotts on the mound! And for you sCrUB fans back a REAL team! SOX .523 winning %, sCrUBs 516% :fthecubs
