Plus he quit trying to go to left on balls on the outer half.

Thanks for reading Soxtalk Jimmy!

jim comes through with a hr too little too late 8-4

I don't know how much longer I can ride my guys Contreras and Thome, but at least a couple more months.

Poreda in for the bottom of the 6th.

What's interesting to me about Poreda, is he's basically a starter but pitches exclusively from the stretch since he's been up.

And he walks the lead off hitter...

We haven't won a game this season losing after the 6th inning...wouldn't it be a heck of game to get our first come from behind?

Hey Aaron, anytime you want to feature this 97 mph gas we have heard so much about, we wouldn't mind seeing it.

Time for my Poreda comment from every appearance: if you can get good value for him, I have no problem trading him. I have no idea who was working the radar guns for him, but his velocity has become an urban legend.

The funny thing is Poreda is known around here for his gas, and a lot of people want him to replace Richard, yet, ironically, Richard throws harder than him.

doesnt matter if he can throw hard or not location is key although he doesnt have it today

If you didn't know better, when you watch Poreda, would you even think he was a prospect? Average fastball, poor location, bad secondary pitches.

Poreda hasn't been known for his location.

seriously, where is the velocity we heard so much about?

Poreda hasn't been known for his location.

not saying he is just saying just bcuz someone throws harder than another doesnt mean he'll be successful
