July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:40 PM) The way the Hossa deal is structured is simply brilliant. Either Tallon has improved greatly OR they have surrounded him with and incredible team. Or both.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 02:27 PM) Just thought this was interesting.... TSN says the Hawks were after Koivu if the Hossa deal fell through. I heard Koivu would prefer to go to Minnesota to play with his brother
July 1, 200916 yr Now if the Hawks could just move Huet to anyone, they could remain in the mix for Marty.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:45 PM) Wow this thread is an exciting read today. Totally...awesome to see the Hawks being so agressive as well...
July 1, 200916 yr HOw close are Hossa and Havlat? If I remember correctly, they were on the Senators together when they had that awesome team in '05?
July 1, 200916 yr This is simply awesome. I can't believe it. Someone on the Hawks board said he heard on the Danny Mac show on 670 that Havlat signed and 8 year deal worth 8 per year with LA. I haven't seen that though. Way to go, DT. Now do the right thing, and trade Huet and sign Khabby.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:55 PM) I think that ship has sailed. It sounds like Marty might be getting more per year the Hossa is going to be getting. I don't blame DT and the Hawks for not wanting to commit long term to Marty. Thinking optomistically, if the 'hawks can trade Campbell and Huet, sign Bulin "cheaply," one never knows. Just thinking out loud.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:47 PM) Now if the Hawks could just move Huet to anyone, they could remain in the mix for Marty. Forget Marty, with Hossa getting this kind of money, he is as good as gone.

July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (RME JICO @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 02:44 PM) If Hossa is a direct replacement for Havlat, we are doing pretty good: 30 Goal Seasons - Hossa - 7, Havlat - 1 70 Point Seasons - Hossa - 6, Havlat - 1 80 Game Seasons - Hossa - 6, Havlat - 1 You left a few out there... 90 point seasons - Hossa - 2, Havlat - 0 100 point seasons - Hossa - 1, Havlat - 0 40 goal seasons - Hossa - 2, Havlat - 0 Edited July 1, 200916 yr by Steve9347
July 1, 200916 yr The Boston Globe says Jaroslav Spacek has signed with the Canadiens. Three years for $11.5 million in total. That is way too much.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:47 PM) You left a few out there... 90 point seasons - Hossa - 2, Havlat - 0 100 point seasons - Hossa - 1, Havlat - 0 40 goal seasons - Hossa - 2, Havlat - 0 LOL, that's funny because I lowered the numbers so Havlat would have something.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) Uh oh, Khabi to the Oilers... tentative agreement Huet or bust baby.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:02 PM) tentative agreement Huet or bust baby. We must not have been able to find any takers for his contract. Dammit.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:03 PM) We must not have been able to find any takers for his contract. Dammit. Not the least bit surprising.
July 1, 200916 yr Just the other day I was thinking Hossa to the Hawks would be a nice off season move.
July 1, 200916 yr Marian Hossa has already donned the Blackhawks sweater... well, technically Winterhawks.
