Russian UFO encounters declassified

Get out the tin foil hats.

This is Russia, so take the story with a grain of salt.

But that Bermuda Triangle thing would be interesting. I've wondered for a while if maybe there is something going on there that is more than simple magnetic anomalies.

Definitely interesting. Hopefully, this will take my mind off the horrible Sox game...

I googled Lake Baikal and found this rather interesting... not related to the story, but interesting...

The people (of the area) have a tradition in connection with this region which they implicitly believe. They say "that Christ visited this part of Asia and ascended this summit, whence he looked down on all the region around. After blessing the country to the northward, he turned towards the south, and looking across the Baikal, he waved his hand, exclaiming, Beyond this there is nothing." Thus they account for the sterility of Daouria, where it is said "no corn will grow."

I recall watching a special on the National Geographic Channel where they discussed a deep trench at a point in the triangle, and if you were to draw a straight line through the planet beginning at that point it would come out to another area of the world (somewhere in Asia) where there have also been anomalies. I believe a lot of the issues with the area have to do with how quickly storms arise. The same show I watched said something to the effect of, one moment you can be staring at a clear blue sky, turn you head for a minute, and when you return your gaze it'll be pitch black beyond the horizon.

Far as the story is concerned, I wish they would elaborate on the chase of the humanoid creatures in suits. How exactly did three people die? It sounds to me to be more of a convenient excuse for some diving mishap.

I don't know what Russia would have to gain with false allegations, but you figure, with all the deep sea exploration being financed today, and the availability of camera phones to document incidents, if these things exist then surely someone, somewhere, will catch them.
