Rios has been well positioned to catch the majority of the balls hit to center. Not a big thing, but pretty nice to see

Counting Peavy, top 4 Sox pitchers with ERA's under 4.00 as Danks drops to 3.87.

He hates Nix like this too. I don’t see any motivation to it other than irrational dislike.

Iv loved what i have seen from Rios so far. Hits the ball hard and gets great reads on balls hit to center.

AJ manages to hit the wall with one.

Surprised that ball didn't die out in center.

Pretty swing by AJ.

wtf

Does anybody know who that guy was in the dugout comparing hand sizes with Rios?

Rios will be fine.

All of the "depth/playing time" issues are better than the alternative of having to use Owens, Wasserman, Andy Gonzalez, Adam Russell and Josh Fields.

AJ quietly having a great season, although the RBI numbers are down a bit even by his normal 55-60 standards.

I'm cool with as many things as possible lining up with 05

not cool with alexei's seeming lack of bunt willingness

Rios is probably trying to do too much at the plate after coming over. He will eventually settle down.

and yeah, HH is to Alexei as HH was to Jerry Manuel

danks with 72 pitches thru 6 scoreless

Sailing along. This is our 4th starter come the 28th.

He just might be the best fourth starter in baseball. If we can make the playoffs...look out!

AJ hit the ball towards the end of the bat, Rios squared his up. AJ’s approach to the gaps is better for this stadium.

wtf hawk

AJ hit a line drive, those dont get knocked down by the wind as much as high fly balls.

From what Ive seen Rios stroke looks fine, he just seems to have no luck with where the ball is going at the moment. Id guess that once he becomes more accustomed to being on the Sox (and playing cf full time) his average will start to go up.

Happy to see we didn't bunt on that one!

AJ could've had 3rd pretty easily there for how 'smart' he is on the basepaths (tho i do acknowledge that he's a solid baserunner)

What's with the bunt hatred? Just because our team fails to execute too much?

Can we hire a coach to team this team how to bunt? Make a new position on the staff just for that.. since we can't do it and no one can seem to teach them how to.

I still think you do Peavy, Buehrle, Floyd for (what should be) a 3 game series, but Danks is making it a nice question to debate.

Ugh, I not like the bunt here.

Can we hire someone to tell them the exact opposite? Is Earl Waver or Manny Acta available?

Kotsay can bunt at least.

Good luck getting the job done here Nix.
