September 1, 200916 yr Big Jim is and always will be a fine example of everything a person representing the White Sox and a professional in any endeavor should be. Total class 100 % of the time. Also if you figure walks into the equation Thome was by far the most productive player on the Sox this year.
September 1, 200916 yr #500 Game #163 Good luck in LA. I hope he gets his ring. There aren't many people in baseball like him or in all of sports.
September 1, 200916 yr I'll always remember him for #163. I'll be rooting for the Dodgers this year now.

September 1, 200916 yr Thanks for Game #163 Jim. Good luck in LA and hope you can get that ring that Joe Table blew for you in 97
September 1, 200916 yr Thanks, Big Jim. You are a class act, and can still hit a ball harder than just about anybody. Sox fans will never forget the Game 163 home run, and your walk-off 500th. We'll see you again in Cooperstown, someday.
September 1, 200916 yr Just really bittersweet, I'm ready to move on as a fan, but really enjoyed Thome's presence here, he was a great guy, great player. I am an honorary dodgers fan for you Thome.
September 1, 200916 yr Thanks for the memories, JT. Please consider us again when you're a free agent this winter.
September 1, 200916 yr Good Luck in L.A. Jim Thome. I will also be pulling for the Dodgers to win the World Series as Thome deserves a ring.
September 1, 200916 yr I must say, aside from the obvious, my favorite Jim Thome moment was in 2006, when we were ripping the Cardinals apart for the first two games of a three game set at the Cell. I was at all three games (dad is a huge Cards fan). The third game was different (and I went with a buddy instead of my old man). It was 0-0, in the 7th I think, and the Sox hadn't gotten a hit, let alone a run. Thome comes up, and just RIPS one to right field. f***ing gonzo. Sox win 1-0 on that, their only hit of the ballgame. Also, I'll never forget Spring Training 2006, and Thome's slow start, but then he hit like 8 bombs in the last 8 games and carried it into the season on a huge hotstreak. I was certain he'd park 50. Unfortunately, he got injured right around the All-Star Game and wasn't the same from there on out, which really hurt the Sox as they slid to third place. Still 42 bombs was a nice debut season from the big guy.
September 1, 200916 yr I hope Jimmy goes on a tear with the Dodgers. I love this move because now we'll be able to bid on Thome as a FA at market value instead of dealing with the problems arbitration presents. I wouldn't mind at all to see Thome back at a reasonable price as part of a DH platoon with somebody else who doesn't suck.
September 1, 200916 yr Thanks for the bat, Jim. You provided a much needed power boost from the left side. Thanks for the HR chase, Jim - gave us things to cheer for when the team didn't give us that. And thanks for being a class act.
September 1, 200916 yr I think it's pretty obvious that we all will now root for the Dodgers, but does anyone actually think they'll make too much noise? I think they get to the NLCS and get bounced.
September 2, 200916 yr Thank you Jim Thome for the great memories you provided during your few years here. Thank you for those majestic home run shots, thank you for hitting number 500, and thank you for that memorable home run last year in game 163. Always a professional. Wish you could have finished your career with us. Hope you win a ring.
