October 1, 200916 yr Konerko being one of my favorite Sox players, this is one of the few highlights of the season, along with g. beckham and buerhle's perfect game
October 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 10:14 PM) leadoff 2010!!! I don't see what's sarcastic about that, we just saw that speed is part of his arsenal now
October 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 10:28 PM) He stole 2 last year. We should just nickname you "The Lid."
October 1, 200916 yr I heard something about this but didn't see it - did Paulie really, legitimately steal a base?
October 1, 200916 yr We have winners on this team and I am still trying to figure out who KW thinks are "quitters" Edited October 1, 200916 yr by elrockinMT
October 1, 200916 yr Um, did a sniper take out their catcher just as he caught the pitch? How is this humanly possible?
October 2, 200916 yr When is his contract due? After trading Brandon Allen, who is the leading candidate to take over 1B once Korneko is not longer with the team? I know Viciedo may be a possibility. Anybody else? Thanks,
October 2, 200916 yr QUOTE (Cubano @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 10:11 AM) I know Viciedo may be a possibility. Anybody else? Chris Marrero and Jim Gallagher, but not for a couple years down the line.
October 2, 200916 yr Man, it would really set us up well if Viciedo pans out. Hope he really settles in next year.
October 2, 200916 yr QUOTE (Cubano @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 09:11 AM) When is his contract due? After trading Brandon Allen, who is the leading candidate to take over 1B once Korneko is not longer with the team? I know Viciedo may be a possibility. Anybody else? Thanks, Next year is Paulie's last under contract. As for 1B, I am guessing Viciedo or Flowers heads the list, but I wouldn't be surprised if they looked at other LH possibilities.
October 2, 200916 yr QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 10:19 AM) Man, it would really set us up well if Viciedo pans out. Hope he really settles in next year. I'm confident that he will. He had a lot to adjust to this year, and he really came around in the second half. I'd be confident enough to start him in AAA, and put him in line for a september call-up (assuming his performance warranted it). As for, Viciedo's future as a 1B, i still have him pegged for LF. I'm just not very sure that having a 5'11 1b is a good idea. Especially, with Alexei feeding him throws either in the dirt or high in the air.
