White Sox Pick up Garcia's and Thornton's Option

Damn, i'm not sure if i like us picking up thornton's option. He wasn't even on the 2005 team.

:D and fixed.

When Garcia first came back, I was not a fan of him coming back next year. He proved me wrong. I've even come around to thinking Hudson could be a valuable arm in the bullpen.

What's great about this move is that Kenny has this off his plate for the offseason, and Ozzie and Coop will have it off their plates in spring training. They know who's in their rotation and can plan accordingly without having to adjust the pitching schedule in spring training. It's a big plus.

How can you not like Garcia being brought back for $1mil?

The guy has always pitched well for Chicago and am glad he is back.

Good.

Now can Freddy have a productive offseason or will he get fat?

That is the question.

What is your problem, Sonix? I said good. I am in favor of Freddy.

I'm just pointing out we need to get the Freddy of this year not a fat Freddy.

Maybe he has the type of body where he could shed fat in spring training if he gets big this winter.

I thought he pitched well and want him back.

And I pointed out that there is zero chance of us having a year of "Fat Freddy'. At worst we get an April. In reality, the guy has something to prove, and there is about zero chance he comes to camp out of shape. An injury is the only way he doesn't make this team next year.
