Simpleton put that album over for the masses, but there is not a bad track on it. Nonsuch was less immediately accessible but it eventually became my preferred album. And AV2 Wasp Star. . . Gawd how amazing would that one be if Dave was still in the band.

Perhaps, but supposedly he was getting a reduced share of royalties due to lack of composition credits or something like that. We've seen things like that before - starts with money and turns into hurt feelings.

On the money on Dave Gregory. Andy's self-imposed exile from recording during his record contract squabble left him out in the cold. I love the Apple Venus albums, and I think it's some of their best writing ever, but Dave's arranging and multi-instrumental wizardry could have taken them to teh next level.
