Should a Sox fan WANT Mauer to stay in Minn?

I would like to see him in a Sox uniform.

+1

I'd rather Joe stay in Minny than go to the Evil Empire though.

Ideally I'd like the tigers/indians/detroit to all have the best teams possible and us to still beat the hell out of them. Royals aren't even realistic.

Dude, they have Wilson Betemit and Josh Fields.

That means a Gordon Beckham clone shall soon arise for them.

It's bad for the Sox's chances of winning the division, but overall, its good for the game of baseball that small market teams can keep their biggest stars.

I wonder if this will ever change in MLB. I would like to see a salary cap.

Why? Almost all the research on the topic shows that there isn't much of a correlation between playoff appearances and team revenue, so why would adding a salary cap change anything?
