April 17, 201016 yr Charlotte Knights vs. Gwinnett Braves Dan Hudson starting. Birmingham Barons @ Mobile BayBears Justin Cassel starting. Winston-Salem Dash vs. Kinston Indians Nevin Griffith starting. Kannapolis Intimidators @ Hickory Crawdads Matt Wickswat starting. Edited April 17, 201015 yr by Ozzie Ball
April 17, 201015 yr Author Trayce Thompson is in the lineup for the Intimidators. Playing CF, batting 6th.
April 17, 201015 yr Hudson gave up a hit and two walks in the first inning, but no runs scored. He seems to have first inning issues, but then settles down. Double for Danks. Edited April 17, 201015 yr by flavum
April 17, 201015 yr Gilmore with a 2 run double. Hitting a robust .382 so far. That will go up or down depending on what he does when the game is over. Edited April 17, 201015 yr by SoxAce
April 17, 201015 yr The lineup Hudson is facing isn't exactly the 1927 Yankees. More like the 2010 White Sox.
April 17, 201015 yr Yeah, Huddy should clean up today. There's some decent doubles hitters on the Braves, but nothing he can't take care of by pounding them low in the zone.
April 17, 201015 yr Danks with another double. RBI scored Retherford. (Swung at the first pitch FYI) Edited April 17, 201015 yr by SoxAce
April 18, 201015 yr Flowers is having a tremendous start to the season. Makes me want to punch all the writers who wrote him off after a bad spring in the balls. Small samples sizes prove nothing.
April 18, 201015 yr Author QUOTE (CSF @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 01:45 AM) Good outing for Griffith so far: 7 IP, 1 R, 5 H, 0 BB, 6 K's. Plus 12 GO/ 2 FO.
April 18, 201015 yr Ciolli so far is 0-3 with 3 K's. In 38 abs he's K'd 16 times.. ouch. Hudson is done.. 5.1 IP 7 H 3 R 3 ER 2 BB 5 SO. Inherits runners on 1st and 2nd though so this line could change. Edited April 18, 201015 yr by SoxAce
April 18, 201015 yr QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 06:37 PM) That will go up or down depending on what he does when the game is over. Really? Stats change in the middle of a game? No way.
April 18, 201015 yr Interesting to see Retherford back at 3B the last couple of nights. We'll probably see him moved around a few different positions over the course of the year... Prepping him for a future utility role.
April 18, 201015 yr With Retherford hitting and Ozzie continuing to take a crap on Jayson Nix, i suspect it's only a matter of time before CJ is on the 25-man.
April 18, 201015 yr Lillibridge seems to be finding the hospitality in Charlotte to his liking. Batting .343 so far on the season. Good for him.
April 18, 201015 yr Nice start for Nevin Griffith. It would be great if he turned into a prospect we could get excited about.
April 18, 201015 yr QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 07:27 PM) Really? Stats change in the middle of a game? No way. I hate you Dan. Nice job by Bellamy in his W-S debut.. 1 IP 2 H 0 R 2 SO Edited April 18, 201015 yr by SoxAce
April 18, 201015 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 10:17 PM) Nice start for Nevin Griffith. It would be great if he turned into a prospect we could get excited about. At least until we trade him. Fixed.
April 18, 201015 yr The W-S team has some pretty exciting players to watch with their sick pitching staff and several position players who could distinguish themselves this year in Gilmore, Escobar, and my pre season sleeper prospect Brandon Short who is making me look smart so far though this is admittedly a small sample size.
April 18, 201015 yr Cassel with a nice outing - maybe his second demotion in 2 seasons provided a kick in the rear.
