Shades of 83??

A big stick moving to 2nd in the line-up

(Fisk in 83, Carlos now)

A second-half surge like no other...

Mammoth Home-runs to crush opposing teams...

A solid, underrated pitching staff...

Keep the focus like they did in '83 and we'll show them what we are made of!

Don't forget the trade for a spark plug 2B.

I don't remember that team, but your description of that team sounds like our team...that's for sure.

Another thing, look at KC's beat guy(or whoever he is) spin on the last two beatings of the Royals..."Who cares if they beat us, it's juts July" blah, blah, blah...LOL

Whatever..

Ribbie, thank you for keeping Ribbie and Rhubarb alive in our memories :D They actually get better with age.

I agree there is a close connection to those teams.

trade for spark plug 2b for sure -

now in 83 why again did we ever let the other one run the bases?

speaking of 83, I was going through stuff yesterday and found a virgin 83 fitted cap that I had bought, stored, and forgotten I owned - the brim is beautifully rounded now! after all these years - thinking this may be an omen!

Julio Cruz was ok on the bases. I think you have him confused with Dibber.

that's what I meant, and was very unclear on, what I meant was, why did we ever let Dibby run the bases after we got Cruz -

Fate I guess.

Hopefully this is the year the bad luck turns to good and the breaks go our way.

Yet another KC loser...

Another Shade of '83...

We were chasing the KC Royals. They were in 1st most of the season until we caught fire in the 2nd half and blew them away.

We won by 20 games that year.

Don't forget the trade for a spark plug 2B.

"The Juice" :headbang

After that web gem of R Alomar's last night, we need to come up with a nickname for him :cheers

Everything that guy wrote is right on the money. But...momentum goes a long way, and the Sox have that now!

After the Sox game I watched Eight Men Out on the IFC channel and damn as usual I got all pissed off at those bastards for throwing the game.

Come on Sox...play to your ability and play hard and maybe you guys can end this curse :cheers
