August 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 03:07 PM) There's some guy named R. Williams in Charlotte who could be an option. Never heard of him, but he has a 1.80 ERA.
August 3, 201015 yr it has to be somewhat legit because if memory serves me right MLB does police the DL a little and don't let teams abuse it
August 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 11:06 AM) Hah...knew someone was going to magically come down with some ailment...was just hoping it would be Kots... I came into this thread just to make that point.
August 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) This sounds about as legitimate as the Padres sending Mat Latos to the DL right after the all-star break after he "strained his oblique holding in a sneeze," right after they announced they planned on substantially pushing back his next start.. Fishy DL business, but I'm ok with it if it helps the Sox win or keep some guys in the show. Think teams try to come up with really ridiculous/hilarious reasons for injuries when they make them up?
August 3, 201015 yr Thanks for being a team player Threets, it allows you to stay with club, get a major league salary as well and help our roster!!
August 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 04:36 PM) Think teams try to come up with really ridiculous/hilarious reasons for injuries when they make them up? Mark Kotsay to DL with a bad case of blue balls?
August 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 05:55 PM) Mark Kotsay to DL with a bad case of blue balls? Shingles...
August 4, 201015 yr Kotsay has turf bat. Kenny should have sent him packing. Lillibridge should be DHing right now. Ozzie is such a clown.
August 4, 201015 yr QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 01:07 PM) Haha turf toe? That doesn't even sound legitimate. No shoulder strain, or foot contusion, or elbow tendinitis... no.. turf toe.. Ha... HAHA. Turf toe is actually a legitimate injury although it isn't super common in baseball. It also is a really crappy and painful injury to get, I've gotten it playing soccer before and it took 3 months before it stopped hurting.
