I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Gardenhire had his pitcher hit a White Sox player in the first inning, so the ump would issue a warning to both benches right from the beginning.

Our retaliation should be beating the living s*** out of them on the scoreboard nothing more, nothing less.

We should attack their minds. Maybe slip some LSD in their gatorade. Lets see Thome hit a homer off Thronton when Thome is seeing pink bunnies doing dances on the field.

I really felt like it was the play at home by Young that led the Sox to come back last night. They looked better in the last couple of innings than they had since early in that game.

We put anyone on, on purpose, and they're coming around to score. Just throw one behind Young and be done with it.

You're missing this as an option:

Yes. Have Linebrink, Pena and Kotsay beat the living daylights out of Young and Cuddyer with their bats like the scene in Casino, causing an immediate life term prison sentence for the 3 perpetrators.

I kid because I care.

We should build another beer tent outside and open more bars around the Cell so everyone can come to the stadium and ignore the game so everything will be happy go lucky?...wait, what?

I've been calling for them to throw at Mauer for the last 3 head to head games. If there's two outs in the first and nobody on, I'd do it. I'd do it the next time he comes up too if there was no warning and the situation warranted it.

The White Sox desperately need to find a way to intimidate that team.

We should win the next two otherwise it is ovah...

Reposted, because we all know its true.

Yes the Sox benefited in multiple ways from Delmon Young's stupid attempted cheap shot:

-- The Twins gave up an insurance run and an out in a close, important game

-- This meant that Capps only had a one-run lead in the ninth, and led to his second blown save in six attempts as a Twin, which should hurt his confidence

-- Caused the game to go into extra innings and Gardy to use his fifth and sixth relievers out of the bullpen

-- Got Rauch into the game, who looked shaky, which will further hurt his confidence and the Twins' confidence in him

So yes, it was a stupid play by Delmon Young, and it demonstrably hurt his team, even though they won the game.

But the Twins are definitely out for blood, as evidenced by this play and the four hit batsmen (Quentin 3 times, Beckham once) in the previous two games. Ozzie may be right that Gardy isn't directing this behavior by telling his players to do this, but he's probably inciting them to "go kill the Sox", or at a minimum he's tolerating it (he didn't bench Young or lecture him in the dugout after that play).

It's time for Ozzie to stop his well-publicized Twins Love, and do something about their dirty play.

This isn't little league. They won't become afraid of the ball.

Excellent post elgonzo and I'm still bewildered that the ump didn't toss Young out or that no one from the Sox bench got up.

IMO, put it at a 6 game lead because it is a done deal. The most important thing is to LEARN something from this, but I don't know that that's possible with this organizational structure in place. Stubbornness is a hallmark of Guillen's tenure, and until his tenure is over, we have to live with "his way".

Our only hope (and it is a slim one) is that they lose 6 of 7 vs. Texas and we are able to beat other teams and make it a race during the last two weeks of the season.

Of course not. However, they won't live on the inside of the plate and you take the bat out of the hands of their best hitter, which gets frustrating.

There might be retaliation tonight because the Sox really need to win. But if they let this Delmon Young s*** ride out through the rest of the season without doing ANYTHING about it, then Ozzie has no balls and the team is weak.

I wonder what KW thinks of the situation.

And I wonder if it would have gone down differently if Castro would have been the catcher.

I remember in, I wanna say '03 when Garland threw at either AJ or Meinsdfhlksfksldfskjiz and got tossed, and the benches cleared, but no fighting....

That was the last time there was any sort of retaliation against Minnesota that I can remember

I love that this is a lose lose situation for us. We retaliate, we're goons and should be focused on baseball. We don't, we have no balls. I don't get it, nobody will say s*** about how dirty of a play Young had, yet if we do something we'll take s*** for it.

We need to either go in spikes up at 2nd or give Young a little high cheese in his first AB.

How quickly are suspensions doled out after a bench-clearing and when can you start serving after it's announced, provided there's no appeal? provided it's quick on both accounts, we can make a brawl worthwhile. we head to KC for 3, then got the O's at home before the Yanks while the Twins have the Angels at home then a 4 game set at texas. I'd say Linebrink's the first off the bench if you're starting an inning, or send someone in to get out of trouble then send him out to start the next inning. Have him jaw with the batter before the AB even starts, then drill him in the back. Keep the SPs in the bullpen and tell Kotsay he better be the first out of the dugout and land the first good punch.

The sox shouldn't and don't play dirty baseball. They just need to go out there and keep busting their behinds and WIN the next two

What Young did was just smart baseball, he had no other chance to score. Not sure why it requires any sort of retaliation.

no way, the normal play of running into a catcher is coming from 2nd on a throw from the OF, and it's never the attempt to go at the head of the catcher, especially when they're standing straight up. He went out of the basepath by 2 feet and went arms out at AJ's head, not quite an attempt to jar a ball loose or an occurrence you might see in the normal course of a game with a catcher blocking the plate. It's bad, dirty baseball and he should have gotten tossed for it.

That was a dirty play IMO. He didn't try to bowl over AJ to knock the ball out of the mitt so that he could score. He went nowhere near the plate and aggressively shoved AJ in the face. That's bush league.

Eh, I only saw one brief video of it, maybe I needed to see it from 10 angles. But it looked like he knew he was dead, and tried to do something about it.

This is a message forum; I was expressing an opinion.

You have confidence that the White Sox will win the next two games, I take it. Is this, perhaps, setting up one of those "real fans" rants?

I have seen nothing from this team to indicate they are capable of doing what it takes to beat the Twins head to head, outside of a pure fluke.
