Sox @ Twins SLUMPBUSTER SPECIAL THREAD 9/18

Featured Replies

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 18, 2010 -> 09:05 PM)
One of the most common themes of Sox failures at Minnesota over the last 10 years or so is that even if a Twins starting pitcher struggles, the Twins long reliever always comes in and shuts the door on the Sox while the Twins get chance after chance to get back into the game.

Why does it feel like we're already losing?

Neither, both guys only play one position, which means they bring no versatility to the Sox. I'd rather have Felipe Lopez, who can play a few infield positions.

don't you think Mauer will move to 1st here pretty soon?

it's a tough one, but I'm going with Mauer.

Really? Seriously? Albert would hit .370 and launch 50 bombs a year playing at the Cell.

big inning for Floyd here

big inning for Floyd here

Floyd's throwing batting practice right now. Twins are hitting a lot of balls hard as Floyd continues to miss the spot with his fastball.

Lead off double on the first pitch.

It's tighten time.

Wonder when AJP is going to realize Floyd has no command of his fastball, as well as being down in velocity with it?

Gavin is literally right over the plate. Again and Again.

Probably when the Twins make it obvious for him in a minute here.

Lopez has been a butcher at 3B for the Cards. Is rarely playing 2B or SS.

I was completely kidding, as I was trying to use Ozzie's logic about how important "versatility" is.

Coop? Anybody home?

Uh, yeah.

good night, now.

This doesn't suprise me a damn bit and i hate it. We're just not built to beat the Twins.

Yay, another fastball called by AJP. Gavin completely crapping the bed for a 2nd straight start vs the Twins.

AJP cannot leave this organization soon enough.

How much of a joke is it that NOW Cooper comes out.

the gory details are starting to emerge...

This ball game is over

I know it gives the guy at second a huge jump, but Floyd needs to go to the wind up right now. He's a minor leaguer from the stretch tonight.

another short lived lead...

42 yr old Omar makes that...43 yr old Omar just misses it.
